Catfish Friday Digital Archive

About the Archive

Catfish Friday Digital Archive is an archive project of Arts ETC with two directives. First, it is an archive project that wants to broaden the picture of who are contemporary American artists and to tell their unique stories through videotaped interviews with the artists. Second, to archive the exhibition history of Yema Gallery that was located in Valley Arts section of Orange, New Jersey. The gallery showcased artists from the tri-state area and artists who participated in Catfish Friday Women’s Art Collective. Yema Gallery is now Yema Arts and Catfish Friday Women’s Art Collective is now Catfish Friday Artist Collective open to all artists.

The archive was made possible by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts and administered by the Essex County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs and funds from New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of National Endowment for the Humanities.
